Nothing like palm trees and a beach to calm the soul on ANOTHER snowy, cold day.
In honor of my 60th, (yes 60th!) birthday, my husband and I spent a blissful month in the quaint little town of Chan Chemuyil, near Tulum, MX. We explored the Mayan Coast daily enjoying the pristine, snow white beaches the area is famous for. It became a favorite jaunt to make the treck to the Sian Kaan Biosphere Preserve. While my husband braved the crocodile infested waters, in search of bonefish, I explored and painted en plein air by deserted beaches and jungle flora...no fauna, (except for little bug corpses that I had to pick out of the paint), thank you! Each evening, about happy hour time, no matter where we were we were treated to beautiful sunsets. The perfect ending to each amazing day!
